Its functions of this tool are to view PDF documents, print PDFs, sign documents with e-signature, comment on PDF files and share the content with other devices.
By default in Windows 8.1 Adobe Reader Touch is PDF reader. This document will show you how to set the desktop application as the default PDF reader.
Why might you want to do this? Well several reasons, on occasion you can't print documents and changing the association to the desktop application removes lots of the hassle. Ninety-nine percent of our users use the desktop mode of Windows 8.1 and get confused when this is not the case.
4 Steps total
Step 1: Remove Adobe Acrobat readers other than the desktop version.
You can do this through control panel > Programs and Features > remove any Acrobat Readers that aren't the desktop application.
Step 2: Set Acrobat Reader as default.
You can do this by going to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Default Programs.
Select 'Set your default programs'. Adobe latest version 2019. Drive file stream. Os10 10 download.
Step 3: Select Adobe Reader v.XX (not Reader)
Under programs select Adobe Reader v.XX (your current version) and select 'Set this program as default'. Then select OK.
Step 4: Finished
Boom Bob's your uncle, your finished.
Setting Adobe Acrobat Reader desktop as the default has fixed many of the oddities the default Adobe Reader has in Windows 8.1.
